Suzuki Carry Pig Carrier Truck

It’s been eight months since my last blog post about scale models, and two months since my last blog post. Since then I’ve bought a lot of scale models. I’ve forgotten when I bought this Tomica Event Model No. 4 Suzuki Carry Pig Carrier Truck. I saw it on display out of its box. I was attracted to it by its bright colors and its loose pigs, and when I saw that it was a Tomica Event Model, I knew I had to buy it.

This model was released at the Osaka Tomica Expo 2017.

I am unable to decipher the text on the doors; it seems to be “とみカよろとんじよろ” (Tomica Yoro Tonjiro) but I do not know what it means. (I probably got it incorrectly.)

Its scale is 1:55 and it’s made in Vietnam. All four wheels have “suspension.”

I just realized that this Tomica Event Model has two stars on the box; my other TEMs have only one. It seems that the number of stars indicates the batch of TEM models for that year: one star means it’s from the first batch, and so on.

The store didn’t have any of this model in sealed boxes.

The price was around 500 pesos; a little expensive but worth it.

I love the pigs.

  1. I am happy to see you are blogging about scale models again. Tomica aren’t available in the shops here but occasionally they appear in the markets. I only have about 5 or 6 Tomicas in my collection but I like their quality and choice of models. I don’t think Matchbox ever did a model with pigs. They had horses and cattle and dogs but I don’t remember any pigs.
